About Filip Van Der Mauten
Filip obtained his master’s degree at KU Leuven in 2004 and immediately started working as a lawyer in health law. Between 2004 and 2019, he worked in various firms with a specialization in comprehensive health law. This is where Filip developed a passion for administrative law-related cases (public contracts, public law proceedings, etc.). In 2012, Filip was appointed as chairman of the Visa Bureau within non-profit organization Mdeon (a deontological platform focusing on the relationship between the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry and healthcare professionals). Filip combined this position with his practice as a lawyer until 2019, after which he started working full-time at Mdeon as chairman/coordinator of the Visa Bureau and participating in the management committee of Betransparent.be. Filip has been registered as a lawyer again since October 2020. At the beginning of 2021, Filip successfully completed his training to become a Data Protection Officer and was appointed DPO within Mdeon. Filip will focus on conventional health law (public contracts and public law proceedings), with a particular focus on the broad domain of elderly care.
